ANNIE The Musical Comes To Boston & Giveaway!

Disclosure: I received a four pack of tickets to attend Annie. All opinions – as always are my own.

“The sun’ll come out tomorrow, so you gotta hang on till tomorrow, come what may!

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I love ya, Tomorrow! You’re only a day away.”

What’s been really fun about parenting is exposing my daughter to movies and characters I loved as a child. Annie is a beloved classic and a movie that we love to watch together. The resilience of little 11-year-old Annie Hall, the sisterhood of all the orphans and the grumpy then loveable Oliver Warbucks together  make for a fun, engaging and warm-hearted movie folks young or old will enjoy. Even tipsy and lonely Miss Hannigan has a place in my heart.

All together now: We love you Miss Hannigan!

The original movie (currently on Netflix) is near and dear to my heart – but I cannot WAIT to see the remake starring Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie, Jamie Fox as William Stacks, and Cameron Diaz as Miss Colleen Hannigan which opens in theatres on December 19, 2014!

I’m super excited to share that ANNIE has once again come to Broadway! The original production opened in 1977 at the Alvin Theatre and received wonderful praise including a Grammy for Best Cast Show Album and SEVEN Tony Awards®! The show remained one of the biggest Broadway musical hits ever – and it’s coming to Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre Wednesday, November 5 – Sunday, November 16, 2014 for 16 performances!

You’ll experience all the goodness of the movie with the beloved score including “Maybe,” “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” “Easy Street,” “I Don’t Need Anything But You” and the eternal anthem of optimism, “Tomorrow.”

Excited yet? Me too! Be sure to buy your tickets early! Use the code MOMS to save 20% off per ticket. Giveaway: Win Tickets to A Christmas Story, The Musical in Boston!

image003

****Congratulations to Robert Loranger!!!****

With Halloween now over, it’s only a matter of time before Christmas will be knocking on the door. I’m not quite ready to accept this truth, even though I’ve already begun Christmas shopping! Along with the hustle and bustle of Christmas comes an important tradition in our house – watching A Christmas Story. The day long marathon still excites me and the jokes never get stale – it’s a classic movie that will never go out of style. We are a musical family and are delighted that A Christmas Story, The Musical is coming to the Citi Wang Theatre this holiday season! What a special opportunity to see all your favorite movie characters come to life on stage!

About A Christmas Story, The Musical:

Celebrate the holidays with this cherished story that will entertain the whole family with this heart-warming classic tale! The story from a cherished movie classic that has enchanted millions is now a musical spectacular. The story takes place in 1940’s Indiana, where a bespectacled boy named Ralphie has a big imagination and one wish for Christmas—a Red Ryder BB Gun. A kooky leg lamp, outrageous pink bunny pajamas, a cranky department store Santa, and a triple dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the obstacles that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas dream. Co-produced by the film’s original Ralphie, Peter Billingsley, A Christmas Story, The Musical is musical comedy entertainment that captures a simpler time in America with delicious with and a heart of gold.
