Review: Pantene Pro-V Truly Natural Collection #Sponsored
My daughter’s hair is….well….complicated. I assumed her hair would evolve to be similar to mine – nappy! Ha. But really I blindly thought the same hair issues I faces she too would. At almost eight years old her hair keeps on changing in texture and it’s hard for me to figure out what hair products will make her happy. Her hair is naturally curly – when it’s drenched is when it’s most happy. Her curls are elongated and bounce as she walks….she spends a lot of time in front of the mirror when her hair is like this!
But when her hair is dry – it’s a whole other story. It’s dry and frizzy and hard to work with and lacks moisturize. I’ve tried so many products to try to inject moisture and bring out her beautiful curls. Our hair box is overflowing with products we’ve tried just once, crossing our fingers that they’ll be the perfect marriage for her hair. So many times we are left disappointed.
I was hesitant at the possibility to work with Pantene Pro-V’s new Truly Natural Collection line. Skeptical that we could again be left disappointed, but willing to see what the products could offer. The items I received were:
Instantly I was excited to try out the Co-Wash Cleaning Conditioner. I heard about the concept of co-washing a couple of years ago, but never consistently tried this process with my daughter.
African American women with natural hair can have a tight curl pattern, making it difficult for the scalp’s natural sebum to moisturize the hair. It can also be prone to tangling and dryness. The Pro-V formula offers deep cleansing without stripping away the natural moisture. With their shampoo and conditioner. For relaxed girls like me, Pantene offers an additional line: Pro-V Truly Relaxed.
The first time we used the co-wash was after my daughter’s braids came out from our trip to Florida. I knew we needed to really condition her hair since she was in chlorine every day. The product really helped to detangle and moisturize her hair. And the smell made the product a home run! Afterwards we used the Shine Serum was also smelled great to help eliminate frizz. I didn’t find this product as successful on my daughter’s hair, but it definitely added shine to her hair.
These products are affordable, versatile, and a great addition to our hair care routine – though we are still on the hunt for the right product to moisturize her hair once it’s dried.
Would you try Pantene’s new line? What hair care products work for your family?
