Highlights of the evening include:
- Take charge of your home wifi with the Xfinity xFi app. This such an amazing app, it has come in handy on many occasions when my 12 year old daughter “forgot” I asked her to read and instead goes on her tablet. We live in a connected world and between tablets, phones and laptops households often have several devices connected to Wi-Fi at any given time. That number likely increases with the holidays with family and friends visiting and utilizing your Wi-Fi network. And with the cold snowy temps here in Boston, it’s common to have some Wi-Fi connectivity issues. What are you to do? Download the Xfinity xFi app! An intuitive platform where you can easily view your network, connected devices, troubleshoot problems and (my favorite) pause connections at anytime! Even if you’re not home! From your fingertips! For devices that continually use your Wi-Fi you can name each device for easy reference. Take the guesswork out of managing your Wi-Fi and sit back, put your feet up and put on Fireplace at Home on Netflix 🙂
- Beef up the strength of your Wi-Fi network with xFi Pods. Based on where you are in your home, it’s inevitable that some areas will have stronger service, while others have decreased bars. Annoying! Xfinity has you covered with their small, hexagon-shaped xFi Pods that plug into electrical outlets compatible with their xFi Gateway which provides increased connection speeds. Ensure you have all the bars in every nook and cranny of your home with these pods that retail for $119 (pack of 3) and $199 (pack of 6). Wi-Fi and chill, for real.
- Get access to the best shows and movies with X1. When we moved into our new place earlier this month we upgraded our old cable box and remote to the sleek and updated X1 platform which includes a voice remote. Think of it as Siri for your TV! We use this feature alllll the time, and the tween loves to use it as well. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before baby boy will be trying to talk into the remote as well! Use the remote to find shows and movies you’d like to watch or save or search for your favorite actor. Available in English and Espanol. Music fuels me, so I love that iHeartRadio and YouTube are now available on X1 so you can have all the living room dance parties you want! For households that have tiny humans you and your kiddos will love the Kids Zone. Kids love it because they can explore age appropriate content. Parents love it because it’s a safe and secure platform. That’s what I call a real win win.
- New phone, who dis? The struggle to find the right carrier can be difficult. With Xfinity Mobile by Comcast is available nationwide to all Xfinity customers and is the first wireless service combining 4G LTE with 18 million hotspots. A better wireless experience on your favorite devices without leaving you bankrupt. Have I convinced you to sign up yet?! Current internet customers have access to five lines which includes everyone’s favorite – unlimited nationwide talk and text. No need to worry when your group chat keeps your phone ringing all day. Xfinity Mobile has you covered. There are two options available, the first “By the Gig” is $12 per GB of shared data/month. “Unlimited” is $45/month per line. And because Xfinity cares about you, you only pay for the data you use. Sweet, right? Ever since my son Hunter was born in February (on Superbowl Sunday) I’ve had serious Mom brain! I forget everything! Phone Finder is the latest Xfinity Mobile feature for sleep deprived parents everywhere! All you have to do is say “Xfinity Mobile, find my phone” and your phone (which is probably in your pocket) will ring ring!
Clearly NOT much going on with Xfinity, right?! Seriously, so so impressed by the thought and care that goes into these new products and features. They are such smart choices and I appreciate how they are focused on making their customers lives easier.
Alright, now I need to go pause our Wi-Fi so my tween can read!
