Head to Edaville USA for Family Fun this Weekend! #ad

I’ve partnered with Fidelity & MEFA for this post in support of the U.Fund Dreams Tour. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

EDAVILLE

With school winding down in a few weeks, sprinklers providing endless fun for kids, and the sun beaming bright I’m happy to say – summer is FINALLY here!! Like many other families once the weather gets nice you’ll find my daughter and I spending long days outdoors at different attractions here in New England. During the warmer months there are tons of great family friendly events in and around the Boston area. This weekend we’ll be heading down to Carver, MA to Edaville USA, a special events park with vintage amusement rides sure to keep your kids busy! This weekend will feature a Day Out with Thomas – a family event centered around the Thomas the Tank Engine and a 20 minute train ride! Oh and did I mention Edaville has FREE parking?! Also helpful: all park rides and attractions included in your admission! Be sure to check out their events calendar to see what different children’s characters will be featured over the summer months!

As my daughter wraps up 2nd grade she can’t help but remind me she’s turning NINE in three short months and that she’ll be 18 in just ten years (YIKES!). While I encourage her to stay young, I’m also encouraging her to pursue her passions which currently include acting, singing, and of course, dancing. I’ll be excited to stop by the U.Fund Dreams Tour this weekend at Edaville and help show my daughter that the sky truly is the limit. Through a series of small hands-on activities the U.Fund Dreams Tour is helping kids imagine the endless possibilities their futures hold. While your child is picturing themselves as an astronaut, rock star or teacher in front of a green screen you’ll have the opportunity to learn about saving for college and supporting your child’s hopes for the future.

I hope to see you there!

Belkin Farm Open House on August 10th!

As much as I love Summer…I’m kind of looking forward to Fall. I know CRAZY right?! Even though my schedule fills up over the Fall, there is so much to look forward too. My sister is expecting her 2nd child in September! My daughter turns 8! And I get to wear leggings on the regular again. There is much to look forward too! Though it wouldn’t be Fall without….apple picking!! My favorite place to visit during the fruit picking season is Belkin Lookout Farm in Natick. Take the family on a lovely train ride through the orchard, get lost in the rows of fruit, and fill your belly with ripe fruit. Oh yes, get excited!!

SAVE at the New Hampshire Gift of Lights Holiday Attraction!

I work right by a kids pottery store and for the past they’ve begun until Christmas. Every morning I walk by and am shocked at how soon the holidays are approaching. Thanksgiving is this week, and Christmas next month. It’s an exciting time of the year, but also stressful. One of my favorite parts of this giving season is taking in all of the beautiful holiday decorations. They automatically put on a smile on my face!

That’s why I’m super excited to check out the New Hampshire Gift of Lights Holiday attraction! With so many lights and so little time! Gift of Lights is guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit. Pile the entire family in the car and prepare to be amazed. Think light tunnels, giant candy canes and Santa up close and personal. What a great way to get in the holiday spirit!

With so much to plan for in the coming months, I’m really looking forward to taking a breather and heading up to NH with my munchkin and basking in the light and joy of the beauty of this magical time of year.

A gift for my local folks who are interested in attending the Gift of Lights – save $2 on the drive through show, so be sure to get your tickets today!!

What local activities are you planning on going to this year with your family?

All Aboard The Polar Express in Hyannis!

All Aboard! The Polar Express comes to life this holiday season as the Cape Cod Central Railway rolls out of the station bound for the “North Pole!” Come early and climb aboard with your family to cozy-up and enjoy our festively-decorated vintage train cars. Dancing chefs deliver hot chocolate and a cookie to each guest to savor while music from the Polar Express movie plays en route to the North Pole. Make sure to have your tickets handy, because your conductor will be by shortly to punch each child’s ticket. Before arriving at the North Pole, the iconic book, The Polar Express is read as your Chef turns the pages to share the beautiful illustrations in the original book. With the station far away, The Polar Express magically arrives at the outskirts of Santa’s North Pole village, where Santa Claus himself and his elves joyously welcome the train! As you stay comfortably settled and warm in your seat, Santa and his helper elf board the train! During the return trip, Santa will greet each child with his signature holiday spirit and the first gift of Christmas: a bell cut from his sleigh. It is said that only children and those who still believe can actually hear the bell ring. Join in the singing as your Chef or Conductor lead Christmas caroling on the 30-minute return trip. For those wanting the magic to last or to do a little Christmas shopping, visit our gift shop in the station for special Polar Express gifts and merchandise. Oh, one last thing, children are encouraged to wear their PJ’s; adults who still believe have been known to wear them, too! So, are you coming? All Aboard!

All Aboard the Polar Express is coming to the Cape Cod Central Railway, visit http://www.capetrain.com/ or call 888-797-7245 to climb aboard.
