Boston Girls Night Out at the Sheraton Copley Hotel!

Living so close to Boston means I get to take advantage of all the fun local events happening in and around this historical city! This year I’m feeling unusually prepared and organized about my holiday shopping and have already purchased 3 presents for my daughter and have created lists for close friends and family. And, of course, I’ve put together my wish list which includes the Samsung Galaxy SIII, UGG Airondock Boots, and another Longchamg tote :-)

As a single working mom my needs often get pushed aside to ensure my little leading lady has all that she could ever need and want. But on November 4th mommy’s going out!!

I’m excited for the upcoming Shop & Talk Pop-Up Warehouse Shopping Party from 11am – 5pm at the Sheraton Copley Hotel. This event is a great opportunity to get together with some girlfriends to shop and have a good time! Indulge in the latest fashions, beauty products, and yummy bites. Spend the day or a couple of hours in the trendy Sheraton sipping cocktails while getting introduced to local Boston businesses in the Back Bay.

Anyone else love swag? Be sure to get your gift bags to keep all your goodies from the day as well as door prizes! LUX (Luxury) Bags are filled with items from sponsors and vendors – $100+ value.

A portion of the gift bag ticket will be donated to The Ellie Fund.

Liz Claiborne Fall Line and Shop Experience

My post last week talked about my partnership with Liz Claiborne & JC Penny who are hooking me up with a great outfit to wear to an upcoming board strategy session at my job. I’m involved with many board meetings at my job, but I’ve recently been given more responsibility and will be getting an official promotion next month (eeek) so the more I get to interact with our boards and build relationships with them the better! And I was personally requested to be at this meeting by a few of the top dogs – go me!

There wasn’t a JC Penny close to me, so I took to their online site to find some new pieces to add to my wardrobe. Navigating their online site couldn’t have been easier! Everything was clear and easy to understand. It’s always nerve-wracking ordering online, but the descriptions were great and the size chart (luckily) was on point which made my life easier! Check out my outfits below (I love dresses so both options are…dresses!):

Outfit 1

I instantly fell in love with this Sleeveless Ponte Knit Sheath Dress when I saw it online! I have been in need of a cute red dress and this is a great addition to my closet with a little rocker chick with the black detail on the shoulder and the exposed zipper in back.

Outfit 2

I love color blocking so I knew I needed this Tie-Neck Dress in black and white. The black on the bottom is slimming and I love the tie detail in front. I’m all about simplicity and this dress is http://share.theblogfrog.com/nf/97-O-6N?bfak=BFA-FK&bf_url=just that with some attitude – which I love. To accent this outfit I purchased the sleek and stylish Rose Goldtone Watch.

My board strategy meeting is less than a week away – I know I’ve prepared myself well for this brainstorming session so the last thing left is figuring out what outfit I should wear. I feel like the red dress may be too dressy, but love the color and the fit! Now, I need your help! Which outfit do you like best? Do you have a favorite piece?

Vote below for the outfit you think I should wear next week at my board meeting from the items I bought! You too can purchase these items and check out all the other items in the Liz Claiborne line at JC Penny by visiting JC Penny online or heading into your local store!

Dressing to Impress with Liz Claiborne & JC Penny!

After finally graduating from college last Fall I was eager to work in the social service field and put into practice all that I’d learned during my time in school. My stars aligned and I was hired to work in the development office at a local nonprofit just a few months after school. Part of my position involves board relations and strategy, which I at first was super intimidated by. Talking with people about fundraising and donating is sooo awkward! I’ve worked through the awkwardness and love working with our boards and getting them excited about the work our organization does!

We’ll be gearing up with a strategy and kick off board meeting in late October, and I’ll have a more active role in engaging our boards, which has me both nervous and excited. It’s a great opportunity to strengthen my relationships with such influential donors and put my communications skills to good use! When I started in this position I was initially upset that I couldn’t wear jeans – but when I’m constantly interacting with donors and attending meetings, I have to ensure I’m dressed professionally. This strategy meeting will be a chance for me to meet new members and I’ll need to look sharp! We are the face of our organization and it’s important to dress to impress! Thanks to the folks over at JC Penny I’ll be able to purchase some new items from their new Liz Claiborne line that’ll have me looking ready to mingle. I’m pretty predictable in what I tend to wear, which usually includes all black everything. But, if you know me, you know I have a colorful personality and I’m looking forward to adding some punch to my outfits and excited to see what how the Liz Claiborne line can help me not only stay professional, but also youthful. Known for classic pieces and quality workwear, Liz makes looking good effortless, all at great prices every day!
