No no I’m not getting married!….One day!! On December 9^th I’ll be headed to the Shop & Talk Girls Night Out event at the Sheraton Copley Hotel with my girlfriend (who is engaged). I posted about this event back in October, but due to Hurricane Sandy the event which was regularly scheduled for November was pushed out to December.

As we all prepare for another busy holiday season kicking off with Thanksgiving, I have been spending a lot of time thinking. Less about what gifts I’ll be giving, and more about what and who matters most in my life. This has been a challenging year for me medically, emotionally, financially – basically in every way I’ve struggled this year. I’ve doubted myself, questioned whether or not I was a good mother, wondering my capacity as a single mother, wondering if I am smart enough to be out in the work field, and wondering if my lingering anxiety will ever subside. I work right by a kids pottery store and for the past they’ve begun until Christmas. Every morning I walk by and am shocked at how soon the holidays are approaching. Thanksgiving is this week, and Christmas next month. It’s an exciting time of the year, but also stressful. One of my favorite parts of this giving season is taking in all of the beautiful holiday decorations. They automatically put on a smile on my face!
