– This week, ‘Summer Strawberry’ is venturing to the state that shares Massachusetts’ northern border with Vermont.

– ‘Summer Strawberry’ will be visiting the Edible Arrangements store located in a large shopping plaza off of Main Street.

– This Edible Arrangements is the healthiest one on the block, as it is neighbors with Colonel Sanders’ major fast food chain and a large coffee and donut retailer founded in Quincy, MA.

My Family loves Avocados! #ILoveAvocados

If you were to ask me a year ago if I liked avocados, I would’ve swiftly said oh no no no! I was no fan of the green exterior and mushy interior – no thank you! But, at my good friend’s house one day this Spring, I took the plunge. I tried avocados. Mixed along with some other ingredients in a guacamole I took a bit sure I would dislike it. Sure it would make my stomach turn. I was more than pleasantly surprised!

It was delicious! I couldn’t stop eating it, it was so good! This guac was on point with lemon juice and red and green peppers; I had no idea what I was missing out on and make guac for my daughter and I often. I had no idea something some simple to make could be so yummy! We also cut up ripe avocados for a side dish! Love!

The world’s first avocado was grown and cultivated in Mexico countless generations ago. Thanks to the region’s fertile volcanic soil, ideal climate and centuries of expert cultivation, Mexico remains the source of the world’s finest avocados. Today, Mexico is the only place in the world where avocado trees naturally bloom four times a year. Producing a year-round bounty of irresistibly rich and creamy avocados whose unsurpassed quality and distinctly delicious flavor are always in season.

I’m not the best at following recipes, but for a yummy guac I dice red and green peppers, mash up some avocado, mix in olive oil and lemon juice and magic happens! There are great texture components with the added peppers which is the perfect complement to the avocadoes!

I had no idea how versatile avocadoes could be, and I’m having a great time making new recipes!

I’m an avoliever! Aka an avocado believer!!

There are a few summer basics I’ve been following this season; they include my flip-flops, maxi dresses, Dior shades, and a fresh pedicure. My sister asked me a while ago how often I get my nails professionally done and gasped when I told her only twice a year, apparently she goes more frequently. But it’s true, I love sparkling toes, but would never pay to get them done more than twice a year, so my daughter and I have a little nail polish fun every week picking out colors from our inventory and creating fun patterns. I. Shall. Not. Break.

Alexandra’s ramblings…

And it is as if I am unknown…to myself. In an instant I remember her. Gracefully progressing. With the smooth delivery of her words she inspires. Her sturdy smile a perfect complement to the sparkle in her eye, she exudes strength with incredible ease. She’s a warrior, a solider. Unwilling to be shackled, she looks to her past with warmth and acceptance. Forgiveness and fairness she lives by every day.

I can see her. I extend my arms to her. I reach. And reach. But am unable to feel the cool touch of her upon my fingertips.

She is me. I am her. Though she is trapped within me, urging, fighting, screaming to live.

I must give it up to myself; I have the most amazing way of throwing myself in a corner, unwilling to accept anything other than one specific ideal. My thought process allows for only one way, there are no options. I’ve morphed into someone unfamiliar these past few months, which have me wondering, searching for the beauty I once possessed. A beauty seen in my face, heard in my laughter.

There is nothing fiercer than being at odds with yourself. To go about your day on shaky ground, second guessing you’re every move, constantly anxious and fearful. Waking up in the middle of the night scared, worried.

I have been tested, I have been defeated. And again with some unknown reserve of endurance I lift myself up. Will I break? Is it just a matter of when? Give yourself a break… You’re doing a great job… they say, but in one ear out the other it goes. Means nothing if I cannot accept these words as fact.

This blog, these words, are my thoughts in its purest most organic form. As I have said before I write to heal – to understand the many swirling thoughts in my head. To better understand why this 26 year old single mom, college grad, independent working Mom can’t give herself a damn break already. To understand why the hell I create these ridiculous expectations of myself. To understand why I feel like I am going to crumble and b r e  a   k.

Find Edible Arrangements’ ‘Summer Strawberry!’

During the summer months my daughter and I crave lighter refreshing treats. Lately we have been on a fruit kick, devouring a pineapple at least once a week! I really enjoy Edible Arrangements for many reasons. One: I don’t have to cut fruit! Listen, it can be time consuming, especially with those pineapples! Two: Who doesn’t love food on a stick? Three: Chocolate covered strawberries. Need I say more?!

– This town has the initials ‘SY’ and is located between West Yarmouth and Dennis Port.
